Perry & the Poorboys

Return to Artists List

Ryan McAllister and Perry Springman are lead singer/songwriters of two different Canadian bands.

Perry’s band, Perry & The Poorboys, play primarily in churches and Christian schools in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia, and South America. Perry has recorded 10 albums, the last CD, Halfway Around, was written and recorded with Ryan. In the past eight years, they've inspired audience members to sponsor nearly 9,000 children.

While signed to Maverick Records, Ryan’s former band Dakona toured in the U.S. and Canada.  It was while on a trip to Africa with World Vision that Ryan says changed the course of his life. Seeing children and their families living in such terrible poverty inspired Ryan to connect with World Vision and help find child sponsors. When not on tour playing with Perry or his new band, Ryan manages his recording studio in Abbotsford, BC.

Together Perry and Ryan play acoustic guitars, ukulele, and harmonica, leading worship as well as playing music from their large repertoire of original music. They have a great passion for their work with World Vision and are grateful for how God has used them to bring hope and comfort in the name of Jesus to so many needy children.
